+ Why this Xena site collective?
To tell you the truth it gets a bit unhandy to have all sorts of info scattered all over my sites. I thought things like links, affiliates and info about the sites might be better off on one central site. It might make the other sites easier to navigate without the same kind of stuff on each site. Et voilà: Black Sand! And isn't it also just an excuse to make a new website and all the graphs? :-) The resolution this site is made for is 1024 x 768. Sorry, that's my resolution. It will work on other resolutions too of course. This site is launched May 1 2005

+ Why Black Sand?
In Xena there are many beach scenes. The beaches have black volcanic sand. On my travels to New Zealand I have been to these beaches (Piha, Bethells Beach and some beach in the Taranaki region) and it is really stunning to see black beaches, black sanddunes. Those beaches rock and it was amazing to have been there! It's sticky though and it burns your soles when it's hot, but what the heck, it's cool!

+ What can I find on this site?
Every Xena site I own and run will be named in the menu. Of each site I will tell a bit about the how and why of the site and screencaps of past layouts. There is also a central links area, an affiliates area and some info about me. You won't find any of these on my other sites anymore, unless it's in a quicklink favourite kind of way.

+ Past layouts:
-- Version 4.0 'Crazy Diamond' features Lucy. I love the phrase 'Shine on, you crazy diamond' whoever may have said it. Tried something different, different colours. Used pictures of Lucy from Woman's Weekly. This layout lasted from July 8 2006 until May 28 2007.


-- Version 3.0 'The Butterfly Effect' features Lucy in some beautiful pictures with a summer feel. I saturated it a bit more to highlight that. With the Butterfly Effect I mean the effect the waving of the wings of a butterfly has: the faster they flap, the move wind displacement, the more it spreads. Same with Lucy, spread the kindness. This layout was online at the same time as Ghostwolf. Loved both layouts and decided to keep them both on. This layout lasted from November 6 2005 until July 8 2006.

-- Version 2.0 'Ghostwolf' features a Xena wallpaper of mine I really love. Short story on this layout: I loved it! This layout lasted from October 15 2005 until July 8 2006.

-- Version 1.0 'Locusts' featuring Lucy in the movie Locusts. The movie is ok, not too smashing (but I hadn't seen the movie when I made the layout). I just thought Lucy looks great on these pics. Tried to give a special glow to the pics and applied some things I recently learnt. This layout lasted until October 15 2005.
